Our Mission
The Moorpark Friends of the Library (MFOTL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer community organization whose purpose is to provide financial support for programs and activities of the Moorpark City Library. These include a wide variety of exciting and innovative reading, technical, and craft programs for people of all ages. MFOTL endeavors to focus the attention and interest of the public on the invaluable community service offered by the library of today.
New Library Progress
On August 6, 2025, the Moorpark City Council formally approved a contract for construction of the new Moorpark City Library. This milestone marks the culmination of years of planning, outreach, fiscal preparation, and community support, and brings the City one step closer to realizing the vision of a new, modern City Library serving residents and drawing visitors to a revitalized downtown area. Construction of the library is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2025.

Moorpark Friends of the Library and other supporters have been celebrating this wonderful pivotal time in the history of our New Library. Check here for updates on the next stages as we move ever closer to stepping through the south and north doors into this beautiful, new, "connection center" for our community.
